Testing

In order to assess if a piece of timber is appropriate for use in a structure it may be necessary to have it load tested. GreenBeams have manufactured a portable test rig that allows the properties of the timber to be measured on site. The test rig allows the properties of timber to be easily tested.

Test the strength of timber for construction

Small timber joists can often share load with adjacent joists and defects can identified by visual or machine grading. However, visual grading of larger beams or logs is much less reliable and machine grading is not viable. For this reason, GreenBeams has a mobile test rig.

In order to assess if a piece of timber has hidden defects, or is still appropriate for use in a structure, it may be necessary to have critical members or representative samples load tested.

The mobile test rig can be used to check the floor joist or beam capacity at your site or in your forest. It can be used to determine the deflection and the capacity for load bearing purposes.
